Hey, I'm Daniel. I study a MSc in Neuroscience at Uni. Leeds. I write an E-Zine called @NeuroSupremacy. It's all about the brain. Obvs.
I think you should read my interview with the lostprophets, or my interview with Zebrahead or maybe my report on Andrew Fenlon...or even his response to my report. I met Jedward once too, they suck. Read the interview with my childhood hero Danny Smith! I also just interviewed Chris Ramsey, a cool comedian. Oh and OK GO! sexy band. I just reviewed day 1 and day 2 of Infest 2010. I covered Bingley Music Live where I interviewed The Blackout and Dan Le Sac & Scroobius Pip. I just interviewed Less Than Jake.

Ok, the Guardian in 2003 reported a few psychological studies, one of which demonstrate how semen may be used to treat depression.
Gordon Gallup at the state university of new york asked just under 1000 women about their sex lives. He found that, consistently, those women who said they never use a condom with their partner were found to be happier across various pscyho-metric tools.
He goes on to say that it is something in the semen which is the key to the happiness and that if we are able to determine what it was in the semen altering mood then it could be used to treat depression.
My mind however then begs the following explanation to why those women were happier than those who do use condoms with their partner.
- Whatever factor in their relationship (duration of relationship, level of trust etc) that makes the pair comfortable enough to have unprotected sex is probably going to have mood altering effects.
- It is probably the OTHER chemicals released during GREAT sex that make the lady happy (and the man for that matter). Let’s be honest, a condom is safe but it does indeed kill the buzz a bit. So better, unprotected sex makes for a better mix of upper chemicals flying around the body.
My questions for any biologist out there…Is there anything in semen that, in such a volume actually make a difference if it is for example injested or injected? On the off chance that yes it does and can…if the semen is lying around the vagina…is it really going to make a difference?
Oh and finally, if sperm does in fact make people happier, then why do men suffer depression? Oh and whilst i’m discussing it…Why do gay men get depressed?
So many questions!
